Format Voting Finals Voting This Gunboat/No-Press tournament is played on the USIN judge and is open to all DipWorld members in good standing. The DipWorld War Council will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of all games. Regular house rules and scoring rules will apply throughout the tournament.
This tournament consists of 4 rounds. The first 3 rounds will be played on the USIN Judge, will end after the fall retreats of 1907, and will be played "Gunboat No-Press", i.e. player identities will not be known, and no player communication will be allowed. The fourth round will be a standard Diplomacy game among the 7 surviving players.
28 different players will be organized into 4 random boards. Round 1 will end as soon as 7 players are eliminated among the 4 boards, or until all games reach the end of 1907. If all games end and less than 7 players are eliminated, players will be voted out of the tournament to reach 21 survivors for Round 2.
The 21 "survivors" will be randomly assigned to 3 boards, and play according to the same format as Round 1. The 14 "survivors" from Round 2 will play on the two Round 3 boards. The 7 survivors from Round 3 will play for the tournament championship.
The Final Round will be a Gunboat game with no pre-set time limit. The game and end when an outright solo victory is achieved, or when a draw is declared. The Tournament Champion will be the player with the highest score in the Final game. The total score from the first two rounds will only be used as a tiebreaker in case there is a tie score in the final round.
